THE BOOK

There is no doubt that Africa has slept for too long. While the sleep is never a sound one, the land has also slept with its eyes widely opened. Therefore, these are ‘Midnight Whispers’ to bring the continent back to its consciousness. These are messages, not only to wake her up, but also to make her stand on her feet and move to the next level.

‘Midnight Whispers’ is a collection of contemporary poems on Africa. The poems are originally composed, written and arranged by the author. While some of the poems seem to address the prevailing issues in Africa, some are aimed at preserving its identity and proud cultural heritage and others reflect on its natural kindness and abundance.

More importantly, the poetry collection is generally aimed at eulogising the value and virtue the Africans as well as enlarging its vision. However, the book does not fail to address the ugly spots on the continent and therefore tries to raise the political and socio-economic consciousness of the people. In all, the book represents a contemporary idea of the black race.
